Want to save the environment? The most environmentally destructive human activities are related to what we eat, so if you grow your own food, this reduces the use of fossil fuels and water by the food industry.
Anyone can grow food – the young and the old. Even people who don’t have proper gardens can use the walls of a balcony or set up garden beds on concrete.
If you want to get motivated to grow what you eat and to learn how to do this the permaculture way, see this video clip of the talk I gave on World Environment Day 2015, at the ‘Our Food’ seminar at Macquarie University.
I hope you will start growing food soon – every pot of parsley counts!
